Whoo...

My life, and my room, are a mess. YAY. Do you think I care? I DON'T! YAY AGAIN!

I freaking hate school.

Must... kill... happiness...

What the hell.

Why the hell is EVERYONE getting married and engaged? I feel bad enough when I think about my parents, they met when they were 21. I'm 22. And still single... not even a hint of any upcoming relationships. That would be find and dandy if everyone on the planet hadn't lost their freaking minds and wanted to get married (or in cases of extreme ineptitude, elope).

It doesn't matter, though, because I don't want to be in a relationship now. Or even. Because I've ONCE AND FOR ALL decided to hate people. I was recently told by some people in an organization I'm in that I was "whitelisted" by the "new black panther"-type students on campus. They write a narrow-minded paper called "the SOULution" that talks about how they're oppressed whenever anything even slightly negative happens to them, or about how the white man is out to get them, or how every black person should demand reparations.

Anyway, I was whitelisted because I'm not helping the cause becase I have "too many white friends". First of all, where the hell do they get off telling me who I can and can't be friends with? Second of all, half of the guys are dating white girls anyway. When was the last time any of them tried to be my friend? When was the last time you saw more that 20 black electrical engineers in one place at one time? I barely even see students that aren't 18-24 year-old white males. How the hell am I supposed to befriend people that I barely see and that don't associate with me anyway? I tried to be in Black Diamond Choir. It was fun but I felt out of place because there were too many stupid-acting people in it, so I did it for my one semester and that was that. I go to the Society of Porter Scholars meetings (a scholarship society for black students to be leaders in the community), but I don't know anyone because most everyone is in A&S or Business school, which means I see them once a month for an hour and that's it.

So don't get on my back because I don't try to define the world in terms of black and white. What the hell is the point? I don't care what the hell you look like. If I work with you, I care that you are a competent, dedicated worker. If I talk to you, I care that you respect my ideals because I will respect yours. It doesn't matter to me if you're an upper-class white male whose parents probably make more in a year that mine could in five, or a lower-class Cambodian transvestite who lives alone and tries to make a living doing research until your eyes itch from staring into the microscope all day.
